Profession
The material-axis position for the outward form of your working life — the counterpart of Sexuality.
In the Balance Codex method, Profession is the position on the material axis that describes the outward form of a person’s working life — the shape their contribution takes once they begin to act in the world. It is one of the energies that come online in the second half of the pyramid’s base: the layer that activates from puberty onward, as a young person’s focus turns outward from the inner ground of childhood toward how they will meet the material world. When each layer switches on across a life is set out in how the pyramid unfolds across your life.
Profession sits on the material axis, the right-hand, outward-facing side of the Balance Pyramid. It is a derived position, read from the structure of the pyramid rather than taken straight from the birth date, which places it within the method’s interpretive body.
Its counterpart on the inner axis is Sexuality. Together they form one of the pyramid’s eight structural pairs — the same energy expressed twice: inwardly as vitality, outwardly as the vocation that vitality becomes. The pair is more telling read together than apart, and the logic that links every such pair is laid out in the inner and material axes.
The value occupying Profession in any given pyramid is one of the twenty-two energies, the alphabet from which the whole structure is built. What that energy means in general belongs to its own page; how it reads here, in the context of a person’s outer life, is the work of the full reading. This position does not name a job or predict a career — it marks the structural place where vocation takes shape, and leaves the content of that work to the energy held there and to the person living it.
