Welcome to Balance Codex. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website at thebalancecodex.com, the Balance Pyramid calculator, the reports it generates, and any related content and services (together, the “Service”), operated by Balance Codex (“Balance Codex”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service.
1. What Balance Codex is
Balance Codex is a structured method of self-knowledge. From a person’s birth date, the Service computes a Balance Pyramid — a structural map of twenty-one positions that describes a person’s innate foundation — and presents a reading of one of those positions, the Main Task, on screen and as a downloadable report. You can read about the method on the method pages.
The method is descriptive, not predictive. It describes the structure of who a person already is; it does not predict future events, outcomes, or behaviour, and it makes no claim to determine what will happen in anyone’s life. Any decision you make after reading your pyramid is your own.
2. The Service is not professional advice
The Service is provided for general informational and self-reflective purposes only. It is not medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional.
Balance Codex is not a health service. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, heal, or alleviate any physical or mental health condition, and nothing in the Service should be read as a claim that it does. If you are struggling with your mental or physical health — and especially if you are in crisis — please seek help from a qualified professional or your local emergency or crisis service. The Service is not designed for, and must not be relied upon as, crisis support.
3. Eligibility
The Service is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that any information you enter is your own or is provided with the relevant person’s knowledge.
4. The calculator and the free report
The Balance Pyramid calculator and the report of your Main Task are provided free of charge and on an “as is” basis. To generate them, you enter a name, a gender selection, and a birth date; of these, only the birth date affects the calculation. The other fields are used only to personalise the result.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter. The result reflects the birth date you provide; an incorrect date simply produces a reading for a different pyramid. The calculation is deterministic — the same birth date always produces the same pyramid.
We may change, suspend, or withdraw the calculator or the report, in whole or in part, at any time.
5. The full reading via Telegram
Beyond the free Main Task report, a fuller personal reading — including the two-person compatibility reading — may be offered by Sogdiana Shvedova, the method’s author, directly through Telegram, a third-party messaging platform.
If you choose to continue, you are directed away from this website to Telegram. Any arrangements made there — including the scope of a reading and any fee for it — are agreed directly between you and the author within that channel. Those arrangements are separate from this website, are not concluded or processed here, and are subject to Telegram’s own terms and privacy practices, which we do not control.
6. Payments
At present, the Service does not sell any product or process any payment on this website. The calculator and the Main Task report are free, and any paid personal reading is arranged off-site as described in Section 5.
If we introduce paid features on the website in the future, the applicable purchase terms, pricing, and refund policy will be presented to you at the point of purchase and will form part of these Terms at that time. Until then, no purchase terms apply on this website.
7. Intellectual property
The Balance Codex method, the Balance Pyramid and its structure, the text and design of this website, and the reports the Service generates are the intellectual property of Sogdiana Shvedova and Balance Codex, and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws. “Balance Codex” and “Balance Pyramid” identify the method and its components.
You may keep and use the report generated from your own calculation for your personal, non-commercial use. Beyond that, you may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, license, or create derivative works from the Service or its content without our prior written permission.
You also agree not to attempt to reconstruct, reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise derive the method’s calculation logic from the Service, and not to use the Service to build or train a competing product. Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under mandatory law.
8. Acceptable use
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- use it for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of these Terms;
- copy, scrape, harvest, or systematically extract content or data from the Service by automated means;
- interfere with, probe, or disrupt the Service, its servers, or its security;
- place an unreasonable load on the Service, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it;
- misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with Balance Codex.
We may suspend or restrict access for anyone who breaches these rules.
9. Privacy and your data
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect — including the birth date you enter — the basis on which we process it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. Our use of cookies is described in our Cookie Policy.
10. Third-party platforms and links
The Service may link to, or direct you to, third-party websites and platforms, including Telegram. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the content, terms, availability, or privacy practices of third parties. Using any third-party service is at your own risk and is governed by that party’s own terms.
11. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available and working, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all content and reports it provides are supplied “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including, without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that any result or insight you draw from the Service will meet your expectations.
This section and Section 13 do not exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Balance Codex and Sogdiana Shvedova will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service — whether based in contract, tort, or any other legal theory, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount, if any, you paid us for the Service — which, for the free Service, is zero.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Balance Codex and Sogdiana Shvedova harmless from any third-party claims, damages, or reasonable costs arising out of your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Changes take effect when posted. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Balance Codex is established as the seller of record, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country in which you are resident.
