THE TWENTY-ONE POSITIONS

Finances

The material-axis position for how you relate to resources and money — the outward mirror of Relationships.

Finances is one of the twenty-one positions of the Balance Pyramid, and one of the later ones to come online. It belongs to the material-axis tasks that begin activating from puberty onward — part of the second half of the pyramid’s base, which switches on only after the bright, innate positions of childhood have already shaped a person. Finances is therefore a position someone grows into over time; the full order in which each position activates is set out on the life-phases page.

It sits on the material axis — the right side of the pyramid’s structure, the side that describes how a person meets the outer, material world. Within that axis, Finances is the material-relational position: it concerns how someone relates to resources, money, and material exchange — one structural facet of how a life is built outward.

Finances is paired with Relationships, its mirror across the centre line of the pyramid. Relationships is the inner-relational position — how a person relates within, in closeness and connection — and Finances is its outward, material-relational counterpart. The same underlying theme is expressed twice: not as two unrelated concerns, but as one structure turned inward and then toward the material world. Why the pyramid mirrors its positions this way, and how all eight pairs fit together, is explained on the axes and pairs page.

Like every position, Finances holds one of the twenty-two energies, and that energy colours how the position reads for a given person. Which energy occupies your own Finances position depends on your birth date — calculate your pyramid to see it, with the full reading of what each energy means in each position delivered in the report.
